ditch the serving platters

Who said food has to be on plates and platters? Throw out your typical plates and platters and pull out some fun items around the house and yard to really add a little something to the way you serve your food!

Think wooden boxes, baskets, buckets and jars!!!

beautify your food

One of the ways to quickly make a BBQ look a bit nicer is to make pattys looks a little more professional! Not only do they look more professional and clean but they are easier to cook! I love using the Grillin’ Up meat press for my burgers!! Every time i try to hand roll and press hamburger meat it comes out in a HUGE GLOB! They are hard to cook, they look messy and they never cook evenly. I was SO excited to use the Grillin’ Up press! It helped me shape my burgers into the perfect shape to make it MUCH easier for me to cook them! And, in my opinion they looked so much tastier, appetizing and professional!

The Grillin’ Up meat press not only came with the Meat Press but it also comes with a Meat Tenderizer, Flavor Injector, a 26 page grill recipe book, and patty papers to keep those beautiful patties you just pressed from stickin! It is an awesome price for all that, ships for free with prime AND you get an Exclusive Coupon just for being you! Make it Mini

Isn’t everything just so much cuter when its tiny? Baby shoes, baby clothes, puppies…you get the picture! Making Bite Size appetizers for your guests is not only delicious but it make the food look SO much cuter! Not to mention, A LOT less goes to waste when you haven’t made a huge platter of one food. Check out below the pictures for recipes on how to make these yummy Mini Appetizers.

apps1

Mini Caprese Kabobs
All you need is Grape or Cherry Tomatoes, Mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, balsamic vinaigrette and tooth picks! Arrange the ingredients how you like, and slide them gently on to the tooth pick. Set them on a dish and drizzle with the balsamic vinaigrette.

These are such a fresh addition to any summer BBQ. And SO healthy! Since making these I have recently found and fallen in love with little mozzarella balls at SAMs Club. They are SO yummy, only $5 for a huge package and you don’t need to spend any time cubing your cheese! Delish!

apps2

Strawberry Shortcake Cups
Slice your strawberries into fourths and add sugar 1-2 hours before you want to use them. Leave them in the fridge until you are ready to serve.

When you are ready to serve them cut small pieces of angel food cake and press them gently in the bottom of your cup. Add prepared strawberries, and top with whipping cream! PS aren’t those cups adorable!!?? Find them: Here!

apps3

Little Smokies Wrapped in Bacon
Cut your bacon into thirds.
Wrap around the little smokie and secure with tooth pick.
Place on a baking sheet, sprinkle with brown sugar and bake for about 20 minutes at 350.

You can do all the prep work for these the night before! About 25 minutes before you are ready to serve them, sprinkle the brown sugar and bake!

Attention To Detail

Adding a few small details to your summer BBQ will really make it stand out!! It is quick and simple and makes all the difference!

Add gingham fabric to your serving boxes or containers. You can buy a yard or two at your local fabric store or you can even cut up a cheap gingham table cloth. (Paper or fabric).

Sugaring your glasses is a quick detail that takes literally seconds! And it is SURE to please your guests!

Simply dip the rims of your glasses in Lime Juice (or lemon, I prefer lime) and dip in sugar. Allow them to try for about 20-30 minutes before serving drinks. (PS Aren’t those mugs to die for?? Two words..DOLLAR STORE!!!!)

details2

Add a couple of simple center pieces on your serving table and/or food tables. Its a quick way to bring it all together. These cute center pieces took literally 3 minutes each! And-they were practically free. I used scrap burlap and scrap gingham, fake flowers and quart mason jars I had around the house!

Add a quick table runner to enhance a plain white table cloth. You can use burlap or Gingham to add a little spice to the table! Again, quick, easy and inexpensive!
