Back to school is in full swing! BLEH! How did the summer go by so fast!? With going back to school, or for some of our young ones who are just starting school, it can be an extremely scary time! Leaving Mom and/or Dad is rough! It can sometimes cause some pretty serious separation anxiety.

One of the hardest parts of my day, as an educator, is to see children upset when their parents have to leave. It breaks my heart each and every time! Everyday I would remind the parents to just “rip off the band-aid” and leave quickly.

April is World Autism Awareness Month! For the rest of the month I will be sharing information, facts, and tips on Autism. I am so excited to be talking about Autism all month long! I have always had a passion for Autism and I have always been fascinated with Autism and the behaviors that it can sometimes come with. toys

Ok, Its confession time….I have an obsession…we could go as far as saying an addiction to TOYS!!! I LOVE TOYS!!!! I love the learning that comes from them, the excitement that comes from a new toy, the beautiful shiny plastic! Ooooh its just so great! Play is a child’s work! Research has shown that play is one of the most influential things when it comes to encouraging brain development, language, social skills, fine and gross motor skills and many more things!!! Confession number two….I have a yard sale addiction…which goes hand in hand with my toy addiction!! I get ALL my baby’s toys from yard sales, thrift stores, hand me downs etc… These are the BEST places ever to find toys! Most toys are kept nice and you can get them for pennies! (Can I  get three cheers for yard sale season coming up!?!?)
