Can we just get three cheers that summer is here!!?? HIP HIP HOORAY!!!!! If I could I would be outside every single day all day playing with  my boys! And truth be told, my 2 year old would be outside all day every day as well!

I have been dying to get my son a Sand Box but have been a total cheapo and haven’t wanted to go buy one! Not to mention how much sand costs to fill it! (Who in the world came up with sand prices?!) Anyway…as I was scrolling through a classifieds Facebook page I am a part of I saw a little bookshelf for sale for $5. I had an instant light bulb! Bookshelf Sandbox! Yes please!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am the world’s worst seamstress! I have a sewing machine, stashes of fabric and everything else necessary to be awesome at sewing! Between you and me- my mom even paid for sewing lessons at a “finishing school” when I was little. I was great at sewing when I was little! I made some super impressive stuff! But, somehow I am continually losing skills in the sewing area as I age. Why do I tell you this? Because I just created an AWESOME apron, just the perfect size for a tiny little human of preschool age. The greatest news? It is nothing but straight lines of sewing! And it is completely customizable to any size of child!

(All products used for this tutorial were sponsored by S.E.I. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.)

I had a BLAST using Tumble Dye for these awesome and SUPER simple Tie Dye patriotic shoes. The other day while working on my Stars and Stripes DIY 4th of July Shoes, my good friend Krista, said, “Those need glitter”. Um, does everything not need glitter? YES! She then proceeded to tell me all about S.E.I’s GLITTER tumble Dye. You can dye pretty much ANYTHING to make it glittery! (And of course any color you want). K Seriously, anything Glitter? SOLD!!!!!  Let me tell you a tad bit about why I LOVE S.E.I. Tumble Dye so much. (Other than the fact that they have a GLITTER line! aaaaah!)

cover

I LOVE the 4th of July! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! Each year my family  spends the week up at Bear Lake at the family cabin. It’s a tradition I look forward to every summer. This year, I decided I wanted to be extra festive and get some 4th of July gear to wear! The one thing I really wanted was a pair of Toms I saw that were Stars and Stripes! But, I am a serious tight wad and I didn’t want to pay that much for a pair of shoes I wouldn’t wear all year round. So, I go my wheels spinning and decided to make my own! And of course, I wanted to share a tutorial with all of you!
