Anyone who knows me, knows that I am the world’s worst seamstress! I have a sewing machine, stashes of fabric and everything else necessary to be awesome at sewing! Between you and me- my mom even paid for sewing lessons at a “finishing school” when I was little. I was great at sewing when I was little! I made some super impressive stuff! But, somehow I am continually losing skills in the sewing area as I age. Why do I tell you this? Because I just created an AWESOME apron, just the perfect size for a tiny little human of preschool age. The greatest news? It is nothing but straight lines of sewing! And it is completely customizable to any size of child!
When I got pregnant people would always ask me if I wanted a boy or a girl. Because it took us so long to get pregnant (read that story here) I never really cared if it was a boy or a girl. I just wanted a happy, healthy baby! And I was just BEYOND excited that I was actually able to have a baby! A baby of our very own! But the look on my husband’s face when we found out we were having a boy…seriously priceless. I have never seen him so happy! And now that I have a boy I would love to have 10! They are SO much fun! Here are a few things I have learned about having a boy….
It’s a story that we unfortunately have all heard. A child being left in a car and suffocating, suffering heat stroke and/or being critically injured or killed. I think we all have thought the same thing upon first thought. “Wow, that is terrible. It would NEVER happen to me. I would NEVER do that.” But, did you know that over half of the heat stroke deaths that occur are because the caregiver forgot the child was in the car? And approximately 30% of the deaths that occur happen because the child got in the car without a caregiver knowing and couldn’t get out.
I LOVE sensory experiences! But quite honestly, sometimes I just do not want the mess of play dough or other fun sensory play ideas! So these Colored Noodles are an AWESOME activity for some fun sensory exploration! Let your child explore them with cups, measuring spoons, scoops and their hands! Not only are these colored noodles fun for sensory but they are GREAT for art!!! (And as always- they are SUPER easy to make!!!!)
What you will need:
2 Cups Macaroni or other fun shaped noodles
Do you have one of those kids that will eat just about ANYTHING as long as it is dipped in ranch, ketchup or something equally as disgusting? Ok Fine, I love condiments just as much as the next guy…but did you know that Ranch has 140 Calories per Serving??? And a serving is only 2 Tbs! Not to mention it has 14 grams of fat and 250 mg of sodium (Hidden Valley Ranch)! So, here is a GREAT solution! This Trick Your Picky Eater-Healthy Homemade Ranch Dip only has 53 Calories per serving, 2.4 grams of fat and 170 mg of sodium! Now, this isn’t a good alternative for Dressing on a Salad…But for dipping veggies, nuggets, fries, pizza…whatever your little person likes to dip…it is PERFECT!!! And it is a much healthier alternative to ranch!
