Back to school is in full swing! BLEH! How did the summer go by so fast!? With going back to school, or for some of our young ones who are just starting school, it can be an extremely scary time! Leaving Mom and/or Dad is rough! It can sometimes cause some pretty serious separation anxiety.

One of the hardest parts of my day, as an educator, is to see children upset when their parents have to leave. It breaks my heart each and every time! Everyday I would remind the parents to just “rip off the band-aid” and leave quickly.

Can we just get three cheers that summer is here!!?? HIP HIP HOORAY!!!!! If I could I would be outside every single day all day playing with  my boys! And truth be told, my 2 year old would be outside all day every day as well!

I have been dying to get my son a Sand Box but have been a total cheapo and haven’t wanted to go buy one! Not to mention how much sand costs to fill it! (Who in the world came up with sand prices?!) Anyway…as I was scrolling through a classifieds Facebook page I am a part of I saw a little bookshelf for sale for $5. I had an instant light bulb! Bookshelf Sandbox! Yes please!

When I got pregnant people would always ask me if I wanted a boy or a girl. Because it took us so long to get pregnant (read that story here) I never really cared if it was a boy or a girl. I just wanted a happy, healthy baby! And I was just BEYOND excited that I was actually able to have a baby! A baby of our very own! But the look on my husband’s face when we found out we were having a boy…seriously priceless. I have never seen him so happy! And now that I have a boy I would love to have 10! They are SO much fun! It’s a story that we unfortunately have all heard. A child being left in a car and suffocating, suffering heat stroke and/or being critically injured or killed. I think we all have thought the same thing upon first thought. “Wow, that is terrible. It would NEVER happen to me. I would NEVER do that.” But, did you know that over half of the heat stroke deaths that occur are because the caregiver forgot the child was in the car? And approximately 30% of the deaths that occur happen because the child got in the car without a caregiver knowing and couldn’t get out.
