I always have the best intentions. I always want to be that Mom that brings cute gifts on Holidays for my kid’s teachers, make cute treats for my husbands employees etc…. BUT I always fall short because I simply DO NOT HAVE TIME!!! Ok…And we can admit that I am not the best baker/cook and I’m truly very non-crafty..

Can I just tell you how excited I am for my Valentines Day treat this year? It takes all of 5 minutes to prepare (minus the oven time) and is UBER delicious and fairly calorie free! My two year old and I had the absolute best time making this popcorn! It is so easy and quick to prep that it kept his attention the WHOLE time and the air popping alone was enough to entertain us for hours. I think we would have popped the entire container if we had a use for 200 quarts of popcorn!

This recipe is a super secret family recipe that my Mother so graciously handed down to me and I cannot wait to let you in on the secret!!! So here it is the most DELICIOUS and most SIMPLE Valentines Day treat!!

Valentines Day Cinnamon Popcorn!!!

Ingredients:

popcorningredients

8 Quarts Air Popped Popcorn (This is about 1 cup un-popped kernels)
1 cup unsalted butter or margarine
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 package (9 oz.) or 1 cup red hot candies (cinnamon imperials)

Directions:

Put 8 quarts air popped popcorn in a LARGE bowl. (I don’t have a bowl big enough so I typically use two large bowls).
Preheat Oven to 250 degrees.

In a medium saucepan, combine butter, syrup and candies. Bring to a boil over medium heat-stirring constantly. (If your mixture begins to boil before the candies are fully melted turn down the heat just a little until they are completely melted).

Boil for 5 minutes-Continuing to stir constantly. (Start timing once the red hots are melted completely).

Pour over popcorn and mix thoroughly.

Pour into 2 greased 15x10x1 pans.

Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

Remove from pan and place on waxed paper to cool.  Break apart and store in airtight container.

Oh those looks so festive! My mom absolutely loves anything with cinnamon in it so it’d be great to make this for her during one of our movie nights together. Thanks!
